HNC Computing for England (Computing) (HTQ)
Some of our courses have been accredited by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education as HTQs. This means that the qualification has been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses, so that our students get the specific training, knowledge and skills required for their chosen career.
Interested in a career in Computing but not yet sure what you want to specialise in? Our Computing course, validated by Pearson, allows you the opportunity to explore the different aspects of Computing. You will cover key and important skills that will cover software development, network engineering and network security.
This is a HNC which is a 1-year course that is equivalent of the first year of a degree. At the end of this course you will be able to top-up to a HND course that we also offer. The HND will build upon the fundamental skills that we introduce in this course.
You will also study ONE further optional unit at Level 4:
The HNC provides opportunities for students to enter or progress in employment in computing, or progress to higher education qualifications such as the HND or an Honours degree in computing or a related area.
Live briefs and visits enable students to engage with industry and employers while the VLE supports and extends the learning experience.
GCSE English and Maths grades at C/4 or above, or equivalent Level 2 qualifications
An Access to Higher Education Certificate awarded by an approved further education institution
Mature students may present a more varied profile of achievement that is likely to include extensive work experience (paid and/or unpaid) and/or achievement of a range of professional qualifications in their work sector. Applicants may be invited to an interview to discuss their qualifications and experience.
