Short Courses: Higher National (HN) Flex

What are HN Flex Courses?

HN Flex courses are individual, bite-sized modules taken from Pearson Level 4 or 5 HN programmes such as HN Construction Management or HN Computing.

The HN Flex modules are designed for those who are looking to gain extra skills within their current role, get a taste of a new career or try out a HN course. They provide the flexibility to upskill or reskill without having to enrol onto a full qualification.

These short HN Flex modules provide the flexibility to study part-time using a blended mode of study. This means that participants will be able to study onsite and online, combining the development of practical skills with academic study.

HN Flex courses:

Next steps after HN Flex

Students can stack skills by completing up to 4 HN Flex units, gaining a Certificate of Unit Credit (CoUC) for each module.

Students may choose to move onto a HN qualification in the future. However, not all HN Flex modules can be combined to create a full HN qualification. If students are looking to complete more than 4 modules or would like to complete a full HN qualification, we recommend speaking with our team before commencing a HN Flex course.
