Welcome to the Careers and Employability Service
The Careers and Employability Service offers impartial, careers information, advice and guidance. The service is provided by Becky Rowe, a guidance practitioner with over 15 years experience, from settings including schools, colleges and community. Becky’s employment history includes management, franchising, retail, self-employment, recruitment, beauty therapy, youth and community work.
The service can support you with employability and career decision making, guiding you through a process of personal reflection that will focus you on identifying the path most suitable for you and your life moving forward. Career decision making is as much about lifestyle aspiration as it is about deciding your professional journey.
The service is available to you from day one of your Higher Education journey, right up to three years following graduation. The service includes:
- Careers information, advice and guidance (1:1 and group sessions)
- Career planning and decision making
- Developing an effective CV
- Support with application forms
- Job search
- Interview skills
- Identifying opportunities
The careers hub is located in the library. Appointments are available Wednesday – Friday and can be booked at the library desk or reception.
