British Conference of Undergraduate ResearchUniversity Campus Oldham students Rachael Mcloughlin and Leanne Harrison, who are studying BSc (Hons) Psychological Studies have presented their final year research at the British Conference of Undergraduate Research on 22 March.
The conference meets annually across various British Universities to promote undergraduate research in all disciplines. This year’s event took place at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU).
The undergraduate research conference is just like any other academic conference and includes spoken papers, lectures, poster presentations and workshops. Each one is delivered by undergraduate students presenting work they have done either as part of their course or as an internship.
Leanne’s final thesis investigated the views of ex-offenders during reintegration into society while Rachael concentrated on rehabilitation techniques used to treat drug offenders both in and out of prison. Both presentations were well received.
