£500 Bursary

16 June 2016 - 31 August 2017    University Campus Oldham

Event Overview:

At University Campus Oldham, we offer you a unique opportunity to learn from industry experienced lecturers who are expert, committed and inspirational. Small cohorts mean you will receive a personal service.

All our degrees are designed to meet the needs of growing businesses in Greater Manchester, so you will be well placed to begin your career upon graduation.

We have a £500 bursary to support you during your first year with us. That’s the University Campus Oldham difference. The Bursary can be made as payments to your bank account via BACS payment (please see When are Payments made? Section below) or you may request that your Bursary is used to fund other study related purposes, such as international travel as part of your programme or for specialist equipment you may wish to buy; in this case the value of the alternative will be equivalent to the value of the bursary.

Applicants must be:

  • Full time (new to HE)
  • 1st year only 2017-18
  • On either a Foundation or Degree course (Not PGCE or Cert Ed)
  • New UK Home Students (EU Nationals who have been ordinarily resident in the UK for the three years prior to the first day of the first academic year of their course)

There is no need to complete an application form or submit a request for a bursary. Our student record system identifies all eligible students. If you are eligible you will be informed by us and will be asked to supply bank account details to enable payment of the bursary.

Payments will be made into the student bank account via BACS payment at the following times:

£150 – November 2017
£150 – February 2018
£200 – July 2018

Students must be in attendance and all fees due to the University must have been paid. The University reserve the right to offset payments against any outstanding fees owed by the student.

Change reasonable attendance to 85% attendance

The payments will be subject to satisfactory attendance and satisfactory academic progress checked periodically during the year. Satisfactory attendance will be determined based on records of student attendance in class. Students will have a right to appeal decisions. An appeal may only be made in relation to the decision if there is evidence of a material irregularity (including administrative error). Appeals must be made in writing within 10 days of the notification of the bursary being awarded and addressed to:
