    Dave has got 2 degrees: BA (Honours) Creative Lens Media and MA Television production. ​

Dave's broad media industry skills set helped him to become very experienced with studio work including; health and safety, lighting, green screen, multi-camera/single camera, sound mixing, sound design, editing, audio production, script writing, directing, title sequences and typography.

Dave researched and created a new and innovative visual/audio teaching course for special needs learners in which creative media students across all 3 years collaborated to film and edit.

He is also well known for creating and hosting 2 audio podcasts with an audience across 139 countries and more than 800,000 downloads. This has led to numerous contacts (directors, editors, musicians, special make-up effects) that are more than willing to chat with students via Skype video sessions.

Dave is working together with Hollywood movie companies arranging for students to take part in the filming process.​

​Foundation Degree Creative Media Production

  • ​Co-ordinated a project with Barnardo’s charity where students filmed a training video for them that is now used across the North West as part of their training programme
  • Arranged for students at UCO to film a scene for a Hollywood movie (the scene will also be showcased on the Blu-ray special features)
  • Recorded an audio commentary for a Hollywood movie that is a special feature on the Blu-ray

  • Best Newcomer at UCO 2014 staff awards
  • Nominated for 2014 Excellence in Teaching Award at Glyndwr University
  • BBC Production Award winner at their 2011 Developing Talent Conference
  • Nominated for a Music Media Award at the Ffresh 2009 Festival.
